Pu-erh is the tea that gets better with age. Like wine, pu-erh is fermented in a controlled setting to give it an unparalleled depth and character. Chinese tea drinkers have known of the health benefits of pu-erh tea for centuries, and recent scientific research have bolstered many of these traditional claims. Pu-erh tea is effective in lowering blood cholesterol, reducing high blood pressure, and preventing intestinal infection.
This tea comes from Manglu Mountain in Xigui Village in Tiedong Township, Linxiang District, Lincang City, Yunnan Province. This tea uses 200-year-old green tea as the raw material and is made by traditional production techniques. The ten thousand acres of tea plantation in Xiguishan is planted with arbor-shaped thousand-year-old trees. Calm and strong honey fragrance. Liquor is bright in color, with little bitterness or astringency, with a good sweet aftertaste. Brewing Suggestions. We recommend 5 grams for 8 ounces of water. Use boiling water and briefly rinse the leaves and pour off. If time allows, let the leaves steam for a few minutes, then re-infuse. This will release more flavor and enhance its bouquet. Leaves will yield multiple steeps.

Enjoy the convenience of a single-serve Pu-erh Tuo Cha, molded into a neat little cake and infused with Semnostachya Menglaensis for a subtle sticky rice aroma that complements the deep, earthy character of aged pu-erh. Each tuo cha offers a balanced cup that highlights classic fermented tea notes with a gentle, toasty sweetness, perfect when you want a focused, ritual-style brew without extra fuss. Full brewing instructions: Place the tuo cha in a teapot or gaiwan and pour boiling water over it for about 15 seconds to rinse, then discard the rinse water. Refill with 8 oz of boiling water and steep 3 to 5 minutes, adjusting to taste. When the cup is down to roughly 1/3 left, top off with boiling water to continue sipping, this re-steep approach yields 3 to 4 enjoyable infusions. Serve it on its own to appreciate the layered flavors, or pair with dim sum, light pastries, or savory snacks. Store in a cool, dry place away from strong odors to preserve the tea's aromatic profile.
Like the fragrant air after rainfall, this aged Pu-erh tea has an earthy, complex flavor profile. Unlike traditional teas with 2 young leaves and a bud, Pu-erh uses 3-4 leaves and bud, yielding older, broader leaves suitable for the fermentation process. The longer Pu-erh is fermented, the smoother the flavor will be. Our Pu-erh 3 Year Aged is a fine specimen with a rich, velvety taste. When you brew a cup, remember to first 'rinse' the tea leaves by steeping in boiling water for 30 seconds and dumping the water. This unlocks the full flavor profile, and you can then brew many infusions from one serving of tea leaves.
