The Whistling Kettle Communi-Tea: Sip For CF

As part of The Whistling Kettle Communi-tea, we choose a new non-profit every quarter to support. This quarter we are supporting those living with cystic fibrosis and donating a portion of the proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Northeastern NY Chapter.

What is The Whistling Kettle Communi-tea?

We believe that tea has the power to bring people together and create meaningful change. That’s why we’re proud to introduce The Whistling Kettle Communi-tea, our initiative dedicated to giving back.

Every quarter, we’ll partner with a charitable organization close to our hearts and donate a portion of the proceeds from a specially crafted tea to support their cause.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. It is progressive, meaning that it gets worse over time.

There are close to 40,000 children and adults living with cystic fibrosis in the United States and an estimated 105,000 people have been diagnosed with CF across 94 countries. CF can affect people of every racial and ethnic group.

According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Patient Registry, in the United States:

  • There are close to 40,000 children and adults living with cystic fibrosis in the United States — and an estimated 105,000 people have been diagnosed with CF across 94 countries.
  • Approximately 1,000 new cases of CF are diagnosed each year.
  • More than 75 percent of people with CF are diagnosed by age 2.
  • About 60% of the CF population is age 18 or older.

Who is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation?

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives by funding research and drug development, partnering with the CF community, and advancing high-quality, specialized care.

Since their founding in 1955, they have worked alongside the cystic fibrosis community to effectively transform a genetic disease in a single generation — making CF one of the most amazing stories in medicine today.

How the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is changing lives

When the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was established in 1955, people born with the disease weren’t expected to live to attend elementary school. Faced with insurmountable odds, but determined to save the lives of their children, a group of concerned parents came together to form the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has achieved many milestones in pursuit of a cure for cystic fibrosis. Today, because of their progress in research and drug development and high-quality, specialized care, people with CF are living into their 30s, 40s, and beyond.

How The Whistling Kettle is TEAming up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
