Kukicha, also called twig tea or Kuki cha, is a delightfully different Japanese green tea made from the leafless stalks, stems, and twigs of the tea plant. If you want something smooth, comforting, and a little unusual, this is a lovely choice. The cup is gentle and mellow, with warm nutty and malty notes, a hint of toasted sweetness, and an earthy, brothy character that many fans describe as comforting and garden-fresh. This Kukicha is low on bitterness and pleasantly sweet, making it welcoming for people who are new to green tea, and it pairs well with other greens if you like to blend. Expect subtle grassy and umami undertones, a light, clean finish, and a soft aroma that some say has a faint floral or perfumed edge. Several customers praise this version as an exceptional, organic example of its kind. Brewing tips: use about 1 teaspoon per 8-ounce cup, water at 175 to 185°F (80 to 85°C), and steep 1 to 2 minutes for a smooth, balanced cup. Kukicha also takes a second infusion well, especially when mixed with leftover Gyokuro leaves for a gentle afternoon steep. Whether you enjoy it as a morning pick-me-up or a mellow afternoon sip, Kukicha delivers a unique taste profile: nutty, toasted, slightly sweet, and refreshingly smooth. Try a bag today and discover why this twig tea has a devoted following.

The defining factor of an Asamushi style Sencha is it's light, quick steaming. Because the steaming is so short (20-40 seconds) it's imperative to use only the highest quality tea leaves as any unwanted traits can easily remain present in the finished product. We're proud to present a beautiful Sencha Asamushi, made with only the highest quality organic spring and early summer leaves.
If you are curious about a tea that actually tastes like dessert without any additives, Milk Oolong (Jin Xuan / Nai Xiang / #12) is the one to try. This Jin Xuan cultivar is prized for its naturally creamy character, a silky mouthfeel and a gentle, buttery sweetness that brings to mind custard, fresh cream and baked pastries. Unlike flavored blends, the milky notes here come from careful processing: cool, humid withering and light oxidation coax a rich, rounded profile out of the leaves. Expect a smooth cup with honeyed sweetness, soft apricot and occasional tropical or caramelized fruit hints, balanced by delicate vegetal or hay undertones that keep the cup interesting. Milk Oolong is versatile: it re-steeps beautifully, with each infusion revealing subtle shifts from sweet and creamy to more floral or vegetal notes. Drink it hot to enjoy its full, velvety body, or brew it cold for a refreshing, slightly sweet iced tea. Because this is a pure Jin Xuan oolong, there are no milky powders or flavorings added, just high-quality leaves and a distinctive, natural profile. If you love smooth, layered oolongs, this Milk Oolong is an elegant, comforting choice that stands out for its unique creamy character, repeatable steeps and true-to-cultivar flavor.
One of the oldest green tea varieties from China, Pinhead Gunpowder was originally called 'Zhu Cha', which translates to 'Pearl Tea'. Gyokuro sits on a royal throne amongst elite green teas. It is only picked during the April/May peak season, and the leaves are carefully shaded to produce its distinct dark green color. Our Gyokuro green tea is from a small batch production, sourced directly from Japan. It brews a vivid emerald infusion full of smooth 'umami' flavor. Fresh and vegetal, once you try Gyokuro you won't look back. For best results, use water at 140-160 degrees. This will prevent bitterness and allow full flavor enjoyment.
Black Dragon Pearls is a hand-rolled black tea that turns a simple steep into a small ritual. Each pearl unfurls in hot water to release a smooth, full-bodied cup with layered flavors: cocoa and dark caramel at the core, gentle malt and honeyed sweetness in the finish, and an earthy depth that keeps it interesting without any bitterness. The pearls make brewing feel a little theatrical, and they re-brew surprisingly well, so one serving can stretch into two cups. This tea is a favorite for morning routine or anytime you want a comforting, refined black tea. It works beautifully on its own, no additions required, yet it also pairs nicely with a touch of rock sugar or a splash of milk for those who prefer it that way. Wakoucha is a Japanese black tea. Yes, you read that correctly. In a country most known for green tea, Wakoucha is a rare gem indeed. This organic Wakoucha brews a clear amber red and has a sweet aroma with hints of honey. It has a sweet and malty flavor with hints of stone fruit and chrysanthemum. This is a rare tea indeed as the best Wakoucha comes from the summer harvest, when tea plants are hit hardest by pests. Being an organic tea there are no pesticides used, making the plants even more susceptible and rare.
