Very smooth. You don’t really need anything in it. Great morning or afternoon tea. Only bought a sample so I definitely will be ordering again.

I had a favorite tea from a local tea shop that they stopped carrying. I have been on the hunt for a replacement since that time and this is it! I consider this a weekend tea, due to it's unusual flavor. It has a kind of yammy, slightly smoky flavor. I've tried the golden monkey from another source and while the WK flavor is a little milder, it does not bitter. I'm so happy I found this tea!

If you enjoy black tea but want more than just English Breakfast every day, you really MUST try Golden Monkey. I like many black teas - Orange Pekoe, Darjeeling, Oolong, Kenyan - but Golden Monkey is the ULTIMATE in black tea. It is robust, sweet, malty and full of flavor with a low astringency that few other black teas offer. Though it's more expensive than the other black teas I've mentioned, I grab a sample of Golden Monkey each time I place an order for tea. I save it for days when I really want something special and I savor every last drop. If you have a discerning taste for truly good tea, this is one you need to keep in your pantry. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely love this tea! I was extremely upset when a mall tea shop got brought out and I no longer knew where to get Golden Monkey from. This Golden Monkey is delicious, although not strong enough to get a third cup out of the leaves like I used to.

I used to work for a mall chain tea store that sold Golden Monkey and it was one of the only plain black teas that I absolutely adored. I had been craving it and was trying to track some down since they aren't open anymore, and found it here. I'm so happy! If you want a smooth, flavorful black tea with personality, please please give Golden Monkey a try. And the price was good compared to what I was used to. For me, Golden Monkey is the only black tea to drink. I got started on it from the 'mall tea' brand that went out of business. After trying a few brands, I found The Whistling Kettle and enjoy this Golden Monkey even more! A great black tea flavor with that cocoa finish. A must-have every morning.

I have been purchasing Golden Monkey black tea for some time, and it's one of my favorites. The taste is full, bright, with lots of body. I prefer black teas, and I create my own blends. Golden Monkey blends well with Darjeeling. Thank you for selling fine teas!

The organic Golden Monkey is really nice. While East Frisian Blend is my every morning go to brew, the Golden Monkey is a close second. The nose is sweet and grassy, like a freshly mowed field of alfalfa hay, and on the palate, a creamy, frothy mouthfeel redolent of chocolate. It lacks a certain maltiness that I like in black tea, but is nevertheless a delicious tea.

I love the flavor of this tea. It has a bit of a chocolaty note to it and it packs a nice caffeine punch. This one really gets me going in the morning!

I am glad I ordered a sample of this to try before I plunged into a full price purchase. I love Earl Grey, and I don't think this will replace it. But, this is an excellent, clean tasting, true black tea. I did taste the rich chocolate tones as a pleasant aftertaste. Very sweet naturally - did not need much honey and I skipped the cream. This a is nice change in my tea rotation.
