Hot Chai Matcha Latte Ingredients
1 tsp (~2g) matcha powder
3oz hot water (not boiling)
4oz choice of milk
1 tbsp Masala Chai syrup
Masala Chai Syrup Ingredients
3 tbsp loose leaf Masala Chai tea
1 cup boiling water
1 cup granulated sugar (or sugar alternative)
Masala Chai Syrup Recipe (~8 servings)
In a cup, steep 3 tbsp of Masala Chai tea with 1 cup of boiling water for 5 minutes.
After steeping, remove tea leaves. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar (or sugar alternative) and mix until completely dissolved. Lasts ~2 weeks in the refrigerator.
Hot Chai Matcha Latte Recipe
Sift 1 tsp (~2g) matcha powder into a small bowl.
Slowly add 4oz hot water (not boiling) and 1tbsp Masala Chai syrup. Whisk briskly in a “W” or “M” motion with a matcha whisk until the tea becomes frothy with fine bubbles and no visible lumps. Set aside.
Add 1oz Masala Chai syrup to the matcha and stir
Heat up your milk (or dairy of choice), then froth using an electric milk frother.
Pour matcha into your favorite mug. Top with frothed milk.
