Iron Goddess of Mercy Oolong (Ti Kuan Yin)
Organic Pure Oolong Tea
This illustrious tea was grown on China’s high hilltops among fresh streams and cool, crisp air. Tender leaves are gently basket tossed immediately after harvesting to rupture the cells for semi-oxidization. Increased steeping time and temperature will draw a distinctively new flavor with each steeping. Enjoy!
We seek out only the highest quality Ti Kuan Yin from the Fujian Province. This is superior grade (the highest available).
Distinctive cup with hints of orchid. Sweet with a fragrant finish.
Pale green yellow
Good green tea with no fluff. Forgiving with imprecise steep times. Second step is usually my favorite!
This tea allows for a pleasant, lingering flavor
I like oolongs, and this one is especially good. It has a fresh green taste, much softer than a sencha, yet noticeable and pleasant. I don't like heating it to 200 degrees, per the instructions. I feel 175 is enough to brew it well.
My first cup of this tea I didn't think I would enjoy. It has a very strong smell and taste. I could only describe it as a very heavy cup of tea. Subsequent steepings yielded a milder flavor and a more enjoyable taste. I enjoyed this one.
I went a little nuts and bought samples of a bunch of Ti Kuan Yin from different vendors. All of them were blind tests, because I wanted to see if the price made any difference, but this tea won my test. It was that much better...
