Organic Green Tea
Gyokuro stands at near the top of the green tea world. It's picked only during the April/May peak season. The leaves are shaded which produces it's distinct dark green color. It has a sweet aroma with notes of freshly buttered greens and seaweed. It's a soft, balanced, well rounded tea and can be re-infused multiple times.(Just use lower water temperature, around 170 degrees).
Small batch crafted and steamed using traditional Japanese techniques. Only hand plucked tea from March and April are used. The leaves are shaded with bamboo and straw for the first three weeks of production. Only leaves smaller than one inch are plucked. The leaves are gently bruised and lightly steamed resulting in a fine, dark leaf with pungent depth.
Brisk and vegetative. Full flavored with a light and refreshing character.
