This blackberry sage black tea offers a unique flavor combination. Many customers praised the "perfect balance" and called it "delicious" and "soothing." However, several shoppers found the sage overpowering, noting it dominated the blackberry. Customers said it works well hot or iced, pairs nicely with food, and can be relaxing. Overall sentiment is positive with noted concerns about sage intensity.

Soothing and delicious!

I love the combo of blackberry and sage. The Whistling Kettle does it right.

The sage comes through so nicely and pairs well with the flavor of the blackberries. No sweetener needed, a perfect tea to sip and breathe deeply. I received a sample through the Monthly Subscription and came back to buy a full bag!

Blackberry Sage

The sage was too strong for me. I tried blending decaf english breakfast with it, but still too much sage. I love blackberry generally but couldn't taste it. I'm glad I bought a sample. Disappointed in this flavor.

Blackberry Sage

This is a flavor I was looking forward to, because it’s not easy to find blackberry flavors in tea. However, the sage is much, much stringer than the blackberry and also is stronger than the black tea base. You have to love the scent and flavor of dried sage a lot to enjoy this, as I tried it hot and cold, and sweetened, but couldn’t finish a cup. It tasted like pretty much only dried sage.

For when I want something different

I love this tea for when I want something a little different than my usual Earl Grey Cream. Reminds me of some tea I've had from the Middle East with the sage.

Blackberry sage

I have always love blackberries and sage. This one is delicious. It’s heavy on the sage, which was a surprise to me because I had had other brands which were heavier on the blackberry.

Complex flavor

This is satisfying in a "filling" kind of way. The sage makes it a more complex flavor, I need to be in the mood for something nicely different.

Good Iced

Tried this as iced tea. It was flavorful, but not overwhelming. I do wish it had less Sage, but it wasn't too bad.

Not a fan

First tea from WK that I’m not in love with, lots of sage. I was unable to drink it but husband says 3 stars.

A fall treat!

I wanted some Maple Taffy tea for fall but found I could only order the huge bag. So I looked for another tea flavor for my fall tastebuds. I had had blackberry sage before and noticed my bag was getting low....so I ordered a fresh bag and am now enjoying the cool mornings with a hot cup of Blackberry Sage . The blend of the two flavors is just right fir my tastebuds for fall and goes well with a hot buttered plain flavored scone! Here’s to a beautiful autumn season with a cup of this wonderfully autumn tea!!

To heavy on the sage for me

Because it's called "Blackberry Sage" I had hoped for more blackberry and a little sage... sadly what I got is very heavy on the sage... I'm thinking of sitting down and picking out the sage... or just keep drinking it until I'm used to it... I love good strong teas in the morning... but prefer fruit or spice than savory in the morning... personal preference...

YES!

This is going to be my go-to black for every day!
Taste: Black nearly bitter, (tarte) Sage, hint of blackberry, blackberry becomes more and more pronounced as you drink, a pleasnt berry after taste. Very demanding rich sharp flavor good lunch tea, would be great with sandwiches. bubbly feeling
Steeps: This held up to 2+ steeps
Scent: A wonderful rich blackberry aroma, earthy like sunshine on freshly tilled soil. You can smell the sage as an under note.
Presentation: A very midling tea, nice leaves not a lot of color

Notes of the Northern Plains

I'd bought sage leaves and stems in couch-pillow-sized bags from my local Lebanese grocer, to burn as well as to steep and sip, so I had a hint what I was getting into when I ordered Whistling Kettle's Blackberry Sage black tea. The sage predominates, even as the blackberry tempers and soothes and the black tea delivers my morning jolt. I love the artful combination. Sage is not for everyone, however, so consider your preferences. I ordered 4 ounces, knowing how much I enjoy sage - this is the Northern Plains variety, not your grandmother's kitchen garden variety - but will enjoy an occasional cup of the Cherry Fig, a bright and sweet concoction, to break-up the morning routine. Five stars for developing the combination and blending the flavors well.

Heavy Herbal -

I was intrigued when I received this sample in my order. I love both Blackberry & Sage, so I thought it would be right up my alley. For me, the Blackberry was extremely subtle & the Sage was very prominent - which came off to me as fairly medicinal. Given the other positive reviews, I may try another cup. Otherwise, this goes in my "pass along" pile.....

Surprisingly tasty

I original ordered a sample of this tea to get my order to $50 so I didn't have to pay for shipping, but after I had my first mug, I immediately ran to my computer and ordered the largest bag they offered. I was dubious about the sage part of this combo, and a bit distrustful of the quality/authenticity of the blackberry flavor; however, it turns out that they use actual blackberries, and the sage acts as a nice counterbalance to the fruit. I did vacillate between four and five stars, only because compared to other black teas, this one seems a bit weak, but I settled on five stars because not everyone likes their tea as strong as I do, and the flavor is really exceptional.

LOVE Blackberry Sage Tea!

This tea is utterly delicious- hot OR iced! It has a soft blackberry taste with a kick of sage at the end of each taste. I am ordering another large bag of it in case it’s only a summer blend- I don’t want to be without it!

Delicious

This is not a typical flavor for tea (that I've seen, anyway) so I had to try it and I'm so glad I did. This flavor combination is just delicious!! I'm a huge fan of blackberries but something about pairing it with the sage just takes it over the top and makes it into an elixir-Magic in a cup!

Lovely Blackberry Notes

I am a blackberry fan! You add the words blackberry and I will buy it. This is a great tea the blackberry is subtle and the sage is very mild. I am not a sage fan, so I had reservations. I really enjoy this tea.

Yummmm

This tea got me hooked on Whistling Kettle. I was in Ballston Spa as a visitor and my friend took me there. I brought some of the blackberry sage tea home and was immediately hooked after the first taste. It's delicious with honey.

Blackberry Sage

I thought that the sage might be overpowering in this tea, since its a strong spice. I was very happy to find a perfect balance between the berry, black tea, and sage tastes in this tea. Two thumbs up!
