Strawberries and matcha are a match-a made in heaven! They create a delicious flavor combination that can be seen at many trendy cafes such as Starbucks or even your local boba shop. Thankfully, you can skip the trip and save money by easily making it yourself at home!
When you mix the vibrant green color of matcha with the bright pink colors of strawberry, you get an Instagram-worthy drink that tastes as good as it looks.
For those who don't love the taste of matcha on its own - try this fruity twist! Traditionally, matcha is known for its very unique, grassy taste. When you add a touch of flavor such as strawberry, it can complement the matcha flavor by adding a fruity sweetness.
STEP 1
In a small bowl, sift in the matcha powder. Pour in hot water and whisk virgorously in a zigzag motion with a bamboo matcha whisk or milk frother until completely dissolved and foamy on top.
STEP 2
Add your sweetener and whisk until dissolved.
STEP 3
Fill a glass 3/4 full with ice. Pour in your milk.
STEP 4
Pour your matcha mixture over the milk and stir to combine.
STEP 1
Pour heavy cream, 2% milk, and strawberry puree into a large mason jar and stir to combine.
STEP 2
Using an electric whisk, high speed blender, frother, etc. beat the mixture on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until frothy - then another minute until it thickens into a foam. Do not overbeat the foam to peaks.
Note
If the cold foam isn't whipping, ensure the heavy cream is cold enough and hasn't separated. Add one tbsp of heavy cream more at a time.
