One of the oldest green tea varieties from China, Pinhead Gunpowder was originally called 'Zhu Cha', which translates to 'Pearl Tea'. Later, it became known to the Western world by its British nickname, Gunpowder Tea. The unique method of rolling the tea into tiny pellets preserves the flavor and aroma in the leaf. This green tea brews a full-bodied cup with nutty notes and a hint of smoky depth.

I bought this for my 17 yr old son who is just getting into the loose leaf tea world. He picked it based on the name alone. We purchased 10 other varieties and this is by far his favorite and he has since asked to order more.

Morning jump start

I like the taste, and even though it says it ls low-caffeine, I feel like it gives a little jump-start to my day

Colorado Loves It

I bought this as a gift for my son in Colorado, who expressly asked for it. I can't say how it tastes, but he loves it, and apparently can't get it out there.

Great Gunpowder Tea!

I've always been a fan of gunpowder teas but this pinhead gunpowder tea is the best one that I've tried! It has a smoky aroma and aftertaste that is amazing! If you like strong green teas or are a fan of gunpowder teas and are wondering if you should try this one, definitely go for it! I will be ordering more as soon as I run out.

Excellent strong green tea!

If you like green teas that have a strong flavor, then this is a great one to try. Brew it at the proper temperature and for the right amount of time, and you'll have an excellent cup of tea waiting for you. This is now my favorite green tea!
