Gyokuro sits on a royal throne amongst elite green teas. It is only picked during the April/May peak season, and the leaves are carefully shaded to produce its distinct dark green color. Our Gyokuro green tea is from a small batch production, sourced directly from Japan. It brews a vivid emerald infusion full of smooth 'umami' flavor. Fresh and vegetal, once you try Gyokuro you won't look back.

For best results, use water at 140-160 degrees. This will prevent bitterness and allow full flavor enjoyment.

Delicious!!

Such a yummy green tea, the umami is very present and makes it addictively good! I add just a tiny bit of agave for sweetness and it is just the best. My favorite green tea I’ve ever tried.

The Real Deal

I love this green tea. Taste authentic right out of Japan. It’s a hard fine to buy real flavorful green tea like this one.

Soulful.

This Gyokuro feeds my soul. Living in Michigan’s upper peninsula, I drink a lot of tea. This is my favorite and has been for a decade. The grassy notes met my expectations. This is a special tea only picked during the early spring. Highly recommend.

Gyokuro

Drinking fine tea is like drinking fine wine. I personally don't like wine very much, but I do love tea. This tea must be brewed at very low temperatures to avoid any bitterness. I actually like the second brew better than the first. I tried it at 145 degrees for 3 minutes and it was too strong, I then tried 2 minutes at 120 degrees F. and it was much better. I enjoy the health benefits and the pleasant grassy hay taste with mild sweet undertones. It needs no sweeting added to it to be enjoyed.

Simply the best

This is the best green tea you can buy if you are a fan of that deep vegetal flavor that only shade-grown tea can deliver. I start every day with a pot and then add a bit of various other green tea varietals for a second brew at higher temperature. The Gyokuro adds a secondary depth to other (less expensive) leaves. It is fun to experiment with different combinations. You don’t know how good green can be until you’ve tried the best.
