Product information

$4.00

Description

We invite you to try a tea that quickly captured our hearts as one of our favorite pure black teas in our line up. Complex and floral with rich notes of cacao, Secret Village Tea brews a smooth and silky cup. Unlike most black teas, it needs less than a minute to steep and has virtually no bitterness. It is hand processed in the remote Tong Mu village high in the mountains of Fujian Province, China. Access to the village is strictly limited to keep their natural environment in pristine condition. Grown in verdant, mountain tea gardens, Secret Village Tea is among the world's finest.

Secret no more

Just finished my Secret Village black tea. This is an excellent strong and tasty Chinese variety. Always on the lookout for good teas and experiment with tea suppliers all over the US.
This is a keeper.

good

I liked this tea. It has a slightly yammy flavor, but still with a strong tea flavor. I prefer golden monkey which has a stronger yam flavor, but if that's not your cup of tea (hehheh) then this one is also delicious.

Pleasant roasty-toasty aroma

This tea is pretty good. The aroma is the best part. I wouldn't say it smells or even has notes of toasted rice at all, but it definitely has some sort of pleasantly mild roast-toast smell to it. I don't detect the floral/fruity notes per the description. But overall it's a nice, smooth tea. I tried it with milk and didn't like that. It's best enjoyed on its on in my opinion because the flavor is subtle. First re-steep is kind of weak. Note that the directions from time and temperature differ from what's on the page here vs on the bag of loose leaf.
