Vintage Pu-Erh (Shou - old age, old aroma)
Deep and complex flavor with no bitterness. Notes of leather, vegetal undergrowth, soft liquor with mineral notes. Suitable for multiple steepings.
Earthy character. Milder compared to younger Pu-erhs.
Dull with a hint of pu-erh brightness, black
Country of Origin
I had never heard of Pu-erh prior to buying it so I had no idea what to expect. It was a wonderful, full bodied tea. Retaining it's flavor through multiple infusions. It was smooth, with no bitterness or vegetal taste. I think it would also make a wonderful iced tea and look forward to giving that a go over the summer.
The taste of this pu-erh is so mellow compared to other pu-erhs I have tried. Most of them are very earthy, very musty, and just not my cup of tea (pun intended). I tried this one, and I have to say that it must be something with the long aging process, cuz this doesn't taste anything like the pu-erhs I have tried.
