Quick and easy to prepare, the addition of vanilla chai tea bags makes for an extra delicious kick.

(Makes 2-4 servings)

  • Loose leaf paper tea bags, or the Conflicted Iced Tea Brewer
  • 32oz wide mouth mason jar (if not using the Conflicted Brewer)
  • 3 tbsp loose-leaf Vanilla Chai (or any Chai tea!)
  • 32oz filtered water
  • 1 1/2 cups eggnog
  • Ice
  • 1-2 tbsp honey
  • 3 oz rum (optional)
  • Ground nutmeg (to garnish)

  1. Heat 3 cups of water in a medium sized pot until 212 F
  2. Add 3 tbsp of Vanilla Chai tea (or any Chai tea) to Conflicted Iced Tea Brewer or disposable paper tea bag.
  3. If using a paper tea bag, place into the mouth of mason jar.
  4. Let steep for 6 minutes, then remove the infuser.
  5. Add 1-2 tbsp of honey into hot brewed tea and stir until dissolved.
  6. Lightly place lid over mason jar or Conflicted Brewer and let the tea rest to bring the temperature to room temp. Be careful during this process as the jar is very hot. Make sure to not close the lid.
  7. Once the jar is at room temperature, close the lid to the jar or brewer and place in the fridge to cool for at least 2-4 hours.
  8. Once the tea as cooled, take the tea out of the fridge.
  9. Add chai concentrate to a 16oz cup.
  10. Add 1.5oz white rum into tea concentrate and stir (optional).
  11. Combine eggnog and milk, heat up until steaming (do not boil).
  12. Pour steamed eggnog mixture into a tall container, being sure to leave extra room.
  13. Froth together until desired foaminess.
  14. Pour eggnog into the chai and scoop the foam on top.
  15. Add a dash of nutmeg on top. Enjoy!

Tea concentrate will have a much stronger flavor than freshly brewed tea - the more you add, the stronger the chai flavor.

If you prefer a very hot Chai latte, add the tea concentrate to the milk/eggnog, and heat it up together until steaming. Then froth.

If you're looking for a caffeine-free option, try this recipe using our Rooibos Chai! Ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon dance over a nutty base of Rooibos tea.

Skip the rum for an alcohol-free warm and cozy latte that the whole family will love!

If you don't have a frother, heat the milk in the microwave or a pan and pulse a few times in a blender. You can also shake it in a mason jar - just be careful to not make the milk too hot.
