EGCG has been found to reduce inflammation. it is believed that EGCG turns on the body's defense system against TNF-alpha , a group of proteins and molecules involved in systemic inflammation.

Ginger: Ginger may help alleviate chronic pain, possibly by lowering levels of hormones that induce inflammation. A study published in 2005 suggests that ginger could lessen pain more effectively than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Blood Sugar

Wild bilberry

Our Chamomile Bilberry Bliss and Hibiscus teas both help lower blood pressure:

Hibiscus: Hibiscus tea, made from hibiscus flowers, showed blood sugar and cholesterol lowering properties in a study published in the November 2003 issue of the "Journal of Ethnopharmacology." In the study on laboratory animals, hibiscus supplementation for 21 days lowered blood sugar by as much as 46 percent and insulin by 14 percent. The extract also lowered total cholesterol by 22 percent and triglycerides by 30 percent. Of note, hibiscus increased HDL cholesterol, the good form of cholesterol, by 12 percent, whereas the diabetes drug glibenclamide raised HDL levels by 1 percent, in the study.

Bilberry: A relative of blueberry. Commonly consumed as a tea and contains among the highest quantities of antioxidant anthocyanin compounds. Bilberry extract was found to have blood sugar lowering properties, in a study published in the March 2010 issue of the "Journal of Nutrition." In the study on laboratory animals, bilberry extract significantly reduced blood sugar levels and increased insulin sensitivity by promoting transport of glucose from the blood into muscles and by suppressing glucose and lipid production in the liver.

Digestion

ginger root

Peppermint, ginger, are tradition herbs used to aid in digestion. Our Peppermint tea and Lemon Ginger Cooler are great for this reason.

Peppermint calms the muscles of the stomach and improves the flow of bile, which the body uses to digest fats. As a result, food passes through the stomach more quickly. However, if your symptoms of indigestion are related to a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD, you should not use peppermint (see "Precautions" section). Peppermint relaxes the muscles that allow painful digestive gas to pass.

Ginger: A study published in the European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, found that ginger stimulates digestion by speeding up the movement of food from the stomach into the upper small intestine.

High Blood Pressure

Blood Pressure measurement

Hibiscus tea has diuretic properties, it opens the arteries, and it appears to act as a natural angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, which means it slows the release of hormones that constrict blood vessels. In addition, hibiscus boosts immune function and provides valuable antioxidants.

Stress

Weightloss

Pu-erh: two antioxidant compounds: theabrownin and gallic acid activate enzymes in our body responsible for fat metabolism. These antioxidants shrink fat tissue and help the body keep fat off weeks after ingestion

White Tea: blocks fat from being stored and helps burn existing deposits. An amino acid in white tea, l-theanine, synergizes with caffeine to block fat from being absorbed into the body. The compounds in white tea also turn off genes that form new fat cells and trigger the breakdown of existing fat stores.
