Menopause

Menopause

Menopause is the natural ceasing of the menstrual cycle in women and it normally occurs during the ages of the 40's and the 50's, although in some cases menopause may be experience as early as the 30's or as late as the 60's. While menopause itself is not a major concern in most cases, there are discomforts associated with menopause and the change in the hormones within the body. These symptoms can include hot flashes, emotional distress, disrupted sleep patterns, lowered energy, and feeling of anxiety or loss. The good news is that treatments for the symptoms associated with menopause are often very helpful, and since they are due to hormone changes they are geared to each woman individually. The only problem with this is that this process can take some time. To alleviate menopausal symptoms in the time period before the prescribed treatment is effective, or even as a replacement for the treatment, the use of herbal teas has been viewed as common in treatment.
