Diabetes and Blood Sugar

Diabetes and Blood Sugar

Diabetes is a condition in which the body does not produce enough insulin to compensate for the level of glucose that is present within the blood, which can result in even further severe health problems over time. Modern science has done a good job of developing treatments for diabetes that involve appropriate medications and understanding the specific type of diabetes that the patients suffers from. However, despite all of the treatment options, the basic control for diabetes is to closely monitor one's diet. While it is important to monitor what your put into your body if you are a diabetic, it is also important to understand what additional options may be available that can further help to control your condition. That is to say, understand that certain foods may actually offer medicinal properties which may help to regulate your blood sugar and control your condition. Luckily, some very common herbs and spices have been shown to reduce instances of the problems associated with diabetes. These include cinnamon, ginger, bilberries, and garlic/bulbs related to garlic. Many tea selections have one or more of these ingredients, and tea itself has been shown to be helpful in maintaining proper blood sugar levels.
