Due to a recent article in Woman’s World Magazine, we have received many requests for pu-erh and white teas. In response, we made four new Dr. Oz inspired teas: Mango Berry Pear, Acai Tangerine, Lemon Ginger Cooler, and Pu-Erh & White Superior (organic). These blends are designed to shrink fat, burn existing fat deposits, and prevent new fat from forming.
Pu-erh: Shrink Fat, Boost Metabolism
Scientific studies have shown that two antioxidant compounds: theabrownin and gallic acid activate enzymes in our body responsible for fat metabolism. These antioxidants shrink fat tissue and help the body keep fat off weeks after ingestion. The caffeine in pu-erh helps speed metabolism, making the body more efficient at digesting a meal.
A study at China`s Kunming Medical College involving 55 patients found that consuming pu-erh tea 3 times a day lowered cholesterol levels by 64%; nearly as much as cholesterol medication
White Tea: Block Fat Absorbtion, Burn Stores
Additional studies have shown that white tea blocks fat from being stored and helps burn existing deposits. An amino acid in white tea, l-theanine, synergizes with caffeine to block fat from being absorbed into the body. The compounds in white tea also turn off genes that form new fat cells and trigger the breakdown of existing fat stores.
White tea has the highest concentrations of EGCG, a tea antioxidant that increases metabolism by up to 6%. EGCG is a powerful antioxidant responsible for many of the health effects of tea, and also promotes heart health, immune resistance, and cancer prevention. White tea has also been found to have a calming effect, very different than caffeine jitters associated with coffee.
Pu-erh and White Tea, the Perfect Combination
When combined, pu-erh and white tea work synergistically to enhance metabolism, reduce fat absorption, and burn existing fat reserves. To maximize the benefits our pu-erh/white tea blend, Dr. Oz recommends drinking 2 cups (16oz) in the morning followed by 2 cups in the afternoon.
While certain forums have suggested that simply drinking a pu-erh/white tea blend will result in weight loss, no tea blend is a substitute for a healthy diet and active lifestyle. Our tea blend is meant to be a powerful weight loss ally when paired with a balanced diet and regular exercise.
